I like Levi but I could just leave Tim and therefore I didn't really enjoy this book. He justifies this based on how people have treated him in the past essentially taking his anger/hurt out on Levi. However, Tim doesn't appreciate it and worse yet actually treats Levi rather badly. Levi lets Tim move in with him, cooks for him, drives him around and protects him whenever he needs it. However Levi who has always wanted a wolf partner will have to see if he can get a new one. Then he offers to let him go after that so he won't feel like he has to stay partners. Levi offers to partner with him so Tim can get an operation. He always expects the worse which while that bothered me it wasn't insurmountable - what was that he was so ungrateful to Levi who was doing everything he could to help Levi. Tim chooses not to try things because people hurt him in the past or disappointed him or some other reason based on his past. Tim is just a jerk! I felt bad for him in the beginning of the book but he whines and complains so much that I just got tired of it and no longer rooted for him. He certainly doesn't plan to spend any more time with the guy, much less get feelings for him.ĪRGH - some of Hollis Shiloh's MC's are not likable people and that was the case in this book for me. Tim doesn't want to let Levi see the flaws and cracks that anything more than a quick hookup would reveal. Levi is a big, sweet guy he'd never expected to see again. Life takes an unexpected twist when one of his anonymous encounters turns out to be attending the same certification course. They didn't even have those when he started! He doesn't believe in mates or true love, not for someone like him.īut he's worked for the cops almost a decade now, and really, there's no reason at all why he should have to go through a stupid certification course. These days, he sticks to anonymous encounters. His best friend (okay, pretty much his only friend) is a drug-addicted fox shifter.Īnd Tim certainly knows better than to fall in love that didn't work out so hot before. He spends far too much of his time trying not to overhear coworkers mocking him. Life isn't easy at a precinct where he's never been fully accepted. Tim is a small wolf shifter, partially disabled, not good at confrontation, and very alone.
